GIS Site Exploration

This map shows the geographic extent of the project along a crucial factor in the selection of a new ski resort. The snowfall interpolation raster clearly displays average snowfall in the given area.

Along with the snowfall interpolation as shown above, the selection of a mountain with a northern aspect is important for snow conditions as shown here.

These conditons are crossed with the distance factor of the highway from the new resort destination. This can be seen below.

The selection has been made for the location of the new ski resort. 

The surrounding topography and the creation of a resort boundary and road from the highway are shown in this map.

Below the slope of the terrain from steep (dark) to flat (light) is shown and used to create generalized slope classifications as used with a typical ski resort.
